Parents of G2 children report a feeling of engagement that is new to them. Family members are invited to visit G2 sessions, meet the volunteers and read journal entries related to their child. Coordinators interact with parents to ensure they feel welcome in the school as valued participants.
Working with the School/Parents
Volunteers’ journals are made available to the child’s teacher to ensure teachers can build their understanding. Journals are also shared with parents to provide insight into opportunities for parents to enhance their child’s development. Coordinators also communicate immediately when behavioral issues, troubling information or suspected, reportable situations occur.
G2 classrooms are always open to teachers/staff/parents to observe.
